The “Healthy Compatriot” program provided free medical examination for 127 children in the city of Goris

The “Nor Nakhijevan” Humanitarian Fund continues its mission by providing targeted support to border communities. On November 14, the foundation’s “Healthy Compatriot” program was implemented at the Goris Medical Center, covering minors aged 0 to 17 from the communities of Goris, Tegh, and Tatev in Syunik Province. A total of 127 beneficiaries received free professional medical examinations under the program.

The services included necessary consultations for pediatric, neurological, surgical, allergic, and gastroenterological issues, as well as sonography. Notably, this year the program has changed its format to ensure free medical examinations for children in RA provinces bordering Azerbaijan. The Goris Medical Center and seven highly qualified specialists who arrived from Yerevan selflessly contributed to the successful implementation of the program. The examining doctors represented the “Arabkir” and “Wigmore” Medical Centers.

Among them were pediatric neurologists Biayna Suxudyan and Mane Tadevosyan, pediatricians Ernest Lalayan (Arabkir MC) and Hasmik Aharonyan (Wigmore MC), sonographer Ruben Khachatryan, pediatric gastroenterologist Armen Abrahamyan, and pediatric surgeon/urologist Karen Melkumyan. Significantly, the medical staff included experienced pediatric specialists forcibly displaced from Artsakh.

Mher Hovhannisyan, Director of the “Nor Nakhijevan” Humanitarian Fund, commented on the program’s results:

“The main mission of our program is to ease the social burden on our compatriots. It allows residents of remote communities, before traveling to Yerevan for specialized treatment, to preliminarily understand their child’s main health issues, receive necessary instructions, and, if possible and if the condition allows, receive medical assistance on the spot from a specialist. At the same time, our compatriots living on the border do not feel isolated; this is not a formality, but a heartfelt and targeted approach”.

The Foundation Director expressed his deep gratitude to the Goris Medical Center, represented by Director Davit Mashuryan, as well as to all the medical staff who participated in the program. Special appreciation was extended to the seven doctors who arrived from Yerevan for their selfless and dedicated professional service.

Judging by the positive feedback from parents and doctors, the program’s new format is in demand, and the Foundation intends to expand its geographical reach as much as possible.
